Historic win for Tassie workers and their families

It started 16 months ago with an enterprise agreement scope dispute that eventually landed in the Fair Work Commission, the existing Enterprise Agreements were rolled over for 12 months with a 5.1% wage increase plus a $1400 sign on.

What followed was 9 months of Interest Based Bargaining which landed two statewide enterprise agreements being voted up with wage increases of 5%, 2.9%, 2.9% or CPI (whichever is greater) 3.5% or CPI (whichever is greater).

CEPU Tas is proud to announce, as part of this union enterprise agreement, a member lead, groundbreaking win of industry-leading universal parental leave has now been secured in the agreement.

Thanks to the strength & determination of CEPU Tas members, all eligible parents — regardless of gender, role, or family structure — will now have access to equal, paid parental leave for the birth or adoption of a child.

  • 18 weeks full pay OR 36 weeks half pay

and

  • Superannuation paid on both paid & unpaid leave components

This is a massive step towards real support for modern working families in Tasmania.
