“Apprentices are the future of our trades and our Union. Their passion, dedication and union spirit reassure me that our future is brighter than ever” – ETU National Secretary Michael Wright.
The ETU is running its national Apprentice of the Year competition for apprentices in electrical trades again for 2025.
The Apprentice of the Year Competition is a chance for our union to promote the importance of training the next generation of tradespeople and a chance to celebrate the high standards of skills, knowledge and achievements that our apprentices bring to our trades.
The winner of the competition for 2024 was ETU Qld apprentice Liam Reichman. Liam was presented with the prize at ETU National conference earlier this year. Liam’s win is a testament to how brilliant, committed and passionate ETU apprentices are – the future looks bright with ETU apprentices lighting the way.
As part of his role as ETU Apprentice of the Year, Liam will be a member of the ETU delegation attending the Global Power Trade Unions Congress in New Zealand, later this year. These are just some of the opportunities being the ETU apprentice of the year creates. The ETU will soon be opening applications for the 2025 apprentice of the year.
