CEPU Members at BAE Osborne are still standing up to their employer in a fight to win a real pay rise and pay parity with ASC workers at Osborne and are escalating action to show BAE they want a real, fair pay deal.
- Members have continued work stoppages ranging from 30 min stoppages to all day walkouts including walkouts when VIPs are on site
- Last week the workers walked off the job and bussed it into the city and marched from Adelaide Oval across the footbridge through the major thoroughfare of the Adelaide the Train Station – Chanting the whole way to BAE offices in Flinders St, demanding a fair deal
- Members will be walking out again to show solidarity with CEPU Delegate Thaelen, as he takes protected industrial action and attends a meeting with Minister Pat Conroy to discuss the ongoing problems with the EBA.
Members are seeking parity with the ASC workers next door which equates to a 30% pay rise on average over 3 years.
The company is offering 12% over 3 years and have refused to move on this position. Members know this is just not good enough.
The company is putting the EBA out for a vote now because they believe the workers have not had an opportunity to have their say on the proposed EBA implying the unions have not been informing the members of every step of the negotiations so far. Just another employer tactic to try and push through a substandard agreement but members aren’t having it.

The workers at BAE are holding strong and have reduced their claims to just that of pay parity – and are still being denied by BAE. But members won’t give up until we win!
Solidarity to all.
