Apprentice wage rates

Apprentice Electrician Wages

This page gives a basic overview of the minimum wages for electrical apprentices covered under the Electrical, Electronic and Communications Contracting Award 2010. The hourly rates include a built in all purpose ‘Industry Allowance, Tool Allowance and Electricians Licence Allowance’. It does not include more specific allowances relating to multi-storey work, living away from home or excess travel costs associated with block release training.

In addition to the minimum rates of pay provided below, all costs related to an apprentices training fees including prescribed textbooks needed to complete your training, must be either reimbursed or paid for up front by your employer.

If you are not receiving the minimum rates expressed below or not being paid your TAFE fees or books, then please contact the ETU and we will happily act on your behalf to help recover your wages.
