Union pulls into South Australia's Port Adelaide.
Last year brought an end to the CEPU SA’s time at Bob Geraghty House on South Rd in Richmond.
The state branch starts 2019 and its next chapter in new offices in Port Adelaide, at 87 St Vincent St.
Secretary John Adley said the move to smaller, more fit for purpose modern offices allows the union to unlock members capital tied up in old underutilised property for use on member services.
“It’s bitter sweet to leave Richmond after nearly 30 years but this is a great move for the union," Adley said.
But as everyone knows, the number one rule with real estate is Location! Location! Location!
The CEPU Secretary said, “the time was right to move the union’s SA Branch offices into the up and coming Port Adelaide area, closer to the Port Adelaide shipyards”.
“With the shipbuilding industry ramping up to build the future ships and submarines for the Australian Navy over the next few decades at Osborne, it makes sense for us to be here, this will be an important membership growth area for the CEPU.”
