Applications are now open for the 2021 ETU National apprentice of the year!
Apprentice of the Year recognises a member who embodies the union spirit in terms of leadership, achievement, and commitment to union values.
Does this sound like you or somebody you know? If so, get working on your application!
This is the fourth year we are running the program. We have seen very deserving past winners who have represented the ETU with confidence and pride, including 2020's winner Hannah Watts (pictured).
This year, there will be scholarships awarded to three apprentices in the country:
2021 ETU Apprentice of the year - $8000
2021 ETU Apprentice of the year runner up - $1250
2021 ETU Apprentice of the year highly commended - $750
It's a prestigious award which recognises the excellence and achievement of our apprentice members, as well as equipping the winner with knowledge and experience to help them excel as a leader in their workplace and trade.
To be eligible to participate you must:
- be a financial member of the ETU
- hold strong union values
- have a strong work ethic and take pride in your trade
- demonstrate a commitment to your apprenticeship, including satisfactory progression of on and off the job training requirements
- have a capacity to work safely, not endanger yourself or others and have the ability to speak up if you see something unsafe at work.
