Delegate Training Courses

Delegate 1 Training Course (3 days)
Aim
To assist delegates to gain confidence in communicating effectively with co-workers and management. Challenge themselves by having beliefs and principals that promote the individuals right to have a say within the collective and not feel victimised. Support fair outcomes for all and be vigilant in stopping discrimination.
Objective
By the end of this training course delegates will be able to;
- Build confidence in themselves and others
- Communicate past experiences by reviewing and reflecting on those past actions
- Connect with the past, Union history, to see what the future may be
- List what the Union stands for
- Build respect for others and yourself
- Define what is the role of a Union delegate and OHS rep
- Practice how do we develop our point of view
- Apply communication styles and techniques to get people to open up and tell us what they really think
- Describe what motivates you & how do I motivate others
- Organise the Workplace by mapping and support networks
- Discuss how do I get some control from meetings
- Perform negotiation skills
- Present effective presentations that get people thinking
- Discuss what does discrimination mean to me & how do I deal with it
- Develop action plans for work
- Share opinions on topical issues
Advanced Delegate Training (3 - 4 days)
Aim
To develop further communications skills, by understanding the different styles that people use and why people respond in the way they do. Effectively negotiate with management, outcomes that support a fair and equitable workplace. Enhance your point of view by increasing your ability to present new ideas through presentation skills.
Courses planned for the future
Advanced Presentation Skills
This course would involve a limited number of participants further developing their ability to speak in front of people, using a variety of media whilst being videotaped for constructive feed back.
